First of all, if we are going to talk about nationalism based on religion. So this is crucial to target one particular religion and defame it. All over the world people and countries are doing discrimination based on others religion, caste, colour etc.
Now let’s talk about Hindu Nationalism. Hinduism is not a religious thing, it’s “Art of Living”. There are so many communities living in a big land of south Asia. And to protect their culture and freedom they defined a line and name the area “Hindustan”. So all the people living in Hindustan know as Hindu (thousands of communities and cultures with different rituals and languages).
So in India, any specific community or religion didn’t make their nation, they just made a name “Hindu” to unite at the country level.
There is so many religion living in India for thousands of years peacefully with their own rituals and rules. It was never a problem for anyone, everybody living peacefully.
But things get worse when other communities came from outside and started building their separate identity as a specific community or religion. Not all the people, but some of the so-called intellectual leaders started creating their special existence as a religion instead of nationalism. Divided Indian into religion and put their religious identity above nationality.
And now the communities are claiming that Hindus are trying to rule the country and they are protecting themselves. Pretty Interesting. I wanna ask here “Which Hindu?” I see Hindu as Nationalism, which teaches the art of living, freedom, respect, humanity and other beautiful things.
Now come to the second part of the question. “Do you think that India is on rise of Hindu Nationalism?”
I don’t think this question even valid or need to ask. As I already mentioned Hinduism is the Art of Living, not a religion. So if Hinduism rises, people will live more happy and free, doesn’t matter what religion or community you belong to.
Until any specific community and religion start fighting for their special existence in a country.
