What is the correct way to wear a Rudraksha?

The beauty of the Rudraksha fruit is that it can be worn by all irrespective of gender or caste. According to the scriptures also one can wear Rudraksha 24 x 7.

सुप्ते पीते सदाकालं रुद्राक्षं धारयेन्नरः | 19

: Srimad Devi Bhagvatam, Book – 11, Chapter – 7

“सोते समय, पीते समय अर्थात् सभी कालों में मनुष्य को रुद्राक्ष करना चाहिए.”

“One should be wearing Rudraksha even while sleeping, eating, or drinking, meaning that one should wear Rudraksha all the time (meaning Rudraksha can be worn 24×7).”

The only precautions to take so that the bead does not get damaged are:

1. Do not wear a Rudraksha to a hospital or a crematorium center as mixed energies present in the surrounding may damage the Rudraksha.
2. There is no restriction on food and drinks for the wearer of Rudraksha.
3. Oil the Rudraksha once a week to prevent it from dehydrating.

So there are no specific rules for wearing a Rudraksha. Rudraksha wearing is a matter of faith, belief, and Lord Shiva’s will for you.
